Engine swaps

Hi guys, I'm new to this so please bare with me.
I have a few questions for you all so feel free to help me out please.
Firstly I bought a Chinese quad I beleive to be a sudika 110cc semi auto. Which run really well however it was 2004 and auto gears where very temperamental either it would stay in same gear or change dependably.
So I went out and bought a newer version for heap 2008 I think
Planning on replacing the engines
However since doing so I can't get a spark.
I've tried swapping strator magneto cdi and could etc and even mixed and matched
Yet no joy?
If anyone has any advice please let me know as I now have 2 dead quads :/

Thanks for that, I managed to find something that looks helpful, just need to persuade the missus to let me hide away in the garage for a bit and test a few things!.
