Default First quad!!!

Hello all!,
Yesterday I grabbed my first quad ever! I've had a handful of dirtbikes but not a quad until now. It's a 2003 Honda Trx300ex,pretty much stock beside the nerf handle bars, runs like a champ.I'm pretty satisfied with how quick it is,but obviously am planning on building the crap out of it.I understand these motors are super reliable,so I still want to build it but try to stay as reliable as possible.
This is what I'd like to do - and hope to be informed as to why or why not it's a good idea.

Bore it over not as much as possible but enough to notice it,and a good brand piston to match, probably weisco I've used them in all of my car builds.
Stage 2 cam
Full exhaust
Upgraded carb
I'd like to get some extended axles,i love the quads with the low wide stance.
Maybe some head work? Not too sure about the limits of what you actually can do to a quad motor, and I rode most of my dirtbikes stock, basic bolt ons like exhaust, bored out carb, etc.

Drop some knowledge on me!
Thanks
