Suzukis are awesome, but not for riding 2 up.
Im heavily thinking about the Can am outlander max for the safe 2up riding. The only problem is whether or not i should get the 450 or the 570.

The 570 is definitely faster but the 450 will most likely surprise you with how powerful it is. Try both of them with both of you on it to see how they feel and see which one you like best.

I'm a fairly big guy at 6'2" at 280lbs and i've got some decent experience with both ATVs and UTVs (haven't ridden many big bore ATVs). The ATVs that i'm looking at in question are both Suzuki king quads. They have a '14 king quad 400axi with about 7k miles for $2600 and they have 3 '16 king quad 500axi's from $5300-5600 with 1700-3600miles. I know the 500's are a little bigger motor wise with IRS and Diff Lock but my question is: "Is double the price really worth it?!?" The 400 seems like such a good deal. I would like to ride 2up with my wife as well so the 500 might be better for that but would the 400 be able to do so? Thanks guys!
I ride a Honda Rancher 420. I can tell you that the 400 would be able to haul you both, but your overall experience will be far BETTER on the 500 both dimensionally and power-wise.

One more thought: I am a HUGE fan of power steering. I know that power steering is not available on a 400, but it IS on a 500. Do yourself a favor and get the power steering. It enhances everything about the ATV experience.

There's my $.02.

Since the 450 is a single cylinder you'll have more torque but less speed than if it was a twin cylinder. The twin cylinder 570 has very good power for it's size. It would surprise a lot of people. My son previously had a Can-Am Renegade 500. It was a blast to ride. Nice light handling, quick for a 500, all in all fun.

The 500 is definitely better but the one I was testing out didnt have power steering. Right now i'm most likely going to try and buy the 2017 can am outlander 450 without power steering. There's a dealer about 45mins away with one in the sage green color for $6,095 out the door. I wanted to get a 2-up version whether it be the 450 or 570 but no dealers within a couple hundred mile radius had them. AFAIK from all the research the can am 450 has the same hp as the kingquad 500.

Oh i bet! Its a hard choice! I think i'm more about the torque, but a 55mph top speed is honestly fine with me haha!

The 450 will definitely do about 60 mph. The 570 will go around 70 mph. The 570 has more power than the vtwin in my Brute Force.

I just bought this today for $6,000. 2014 AC 700 TRV XT with EPS. Had 120 miles. Just got back from a long ride, it is awesome! I think if you keep looking, you'll find a nice 2 up.

That's really nice. That's probably a $9000 quad brand new.
