Welcome to the forums, ya got a lot of readin to do to get caught up. There is a ton of information on this forum. You might get yourself a service manual for your model, a real factory service manual not an aftermarket manual. Not that expensive and will answer many of your questions..

Hello from Colorado: I'm rather new to the sport myself. These forums have been very helpful in my learning about the machines and trail ridding. You have a good machine for trail riding with your Polaris. These forums have a strong Polaris following.
But I didn't really start learning until I started riding. Luckily I have two friends who are experienced and helped guide me along. Take it easy the first few trail rides until you get your legs under you. These machines are quite tippy and can flip over if you are not careful. They won't climb or go over just everything in the woods.
