Hello From NW Arkansas

Just purchased a Kawasaki Mule SX and so far I am pleased other than having to use so much braking to go downhill. We recently moved out on a lake in Bella Vista, Arkansas and have a winding concrete cart path down to the lake. We purchased our Mule SX to haul my old butt and beer down to and up to the lake. This pathway is pretty steep close to a 25% grade i estimate. I was led to believe that the Mule would offer some assistance in engine braking going down steep grades but even in low range and 4-wheel drive and the differential locked I find myself having to be hard on the brakes all the way downhill. I would love some/any suggestions on how to improve this issue. At this rate I will be going through brake shoes quickly.
Thanks!
Mike

Welcome.
As weird as it sounds, try giving it a little gas going down the hill. It will engage the belt and help you control your descents. Either a steady slow input or jabbing it when it seems to be free wheeling enough to get the belt to engage and slow you.
