Default 1996 polaris sportsman 500 4x4 fuel issue?

1996 polaris sportsman 500 4x4.
Atv refuses to run. Seems to be a fuel issue, I checked the fuel pump and it seems to be working fine, pulsing fuel well. I even bypassed it to make sure and nothing changed, still wouldn't start. When I put my hand over the carb it spits fuel out of the end and overflows, if I let it sit for a few seconds after and try to start it again it fires up and runs horribly for a few seconds and then dies. Brand new carb, but I pulled it apart again and cleaned just to make sure and everything is clean. Great compression, good spark new plug, brand new cam, lifters, piston, rings, and yes the timing is good. Need help desperately before I light this thing on fire. Thank you

Unfortunately that is the problem with aftermarket carbs, not setup for your engine, not even correct size jets....much better off getting a good rebuild kit with instructions as they will have new gaskets, seats, and instructions for setup.
