So a guy gave me a polaris for doing a side job he thinks it is a 1991 250 4×6 2 stroke. What is the difference between a 4×6 and a 6×6? How do I find the right info.

I have never heard of a Polaris 6x6 being a 4x6. A 4x6 would have 4wd likely to the tow back axles. Polaris Big Boss 6x6 quads were true 6wd. That is power can go to all three axles. Is there a center differential in the front? Or a chain driven front axle? If so, it should be a 6x6.

Looked at images of both 6x6 and 4x6. The four rear wheels had a drive to them. So would guess from that, the 6x6 also had front wheel drive.
