Why won't anyone tell how to make modulator box?
#1
I know that it wouldnt actually cost more than $10 to make it, is that why people won't post it? Everything to make the box can be had from radio shack, I checked. I just don't wanna try it without knowing if it will work....I am not the brightest bulb in the box.

then you better spend the money and buy one so you don't f*ck up your buggy.

I read on another site that someone had posted it and then took it down because someone else tried to make one themself, and then they fried their cdi and was bitching about it to the person that posted the info.

I can't believe that we don't have an electrical engineer that rides a 650. Maybe we do have one but he is too greedy to hand out the plans, or afraid like you mentioned.
I believe that any real electrical engineer could produce a plan that some of the smarter ones of us could follow and get right.
We have dentists, farmers, doctors. We don't have any lawyers, not that I have heard of. We probably could use some lawyers and politicians on our side too.

Can you send me info on a cdi. I am a computer programmer and a partner in a ISP. I have 2 other partners who are electrical engineers and one graduated from MIT. They are always making things. If you send me info on what is need I am sure they can figure it out.

There is a speed sensor behind the cvt cover that creates a pulse that the cdi uses to figure out your speed. All you need to do is generate a continuous pulse at the same level to fool the cdi into thinking you are going 25mph. When you go above 25 mph, the actual pulse signal is needed so that top speed is not lost (cdi backs timing off on top speed too).
The KEBC and speedometer still need the actual speed sensor pulse, but the CDI needs to be fooled.
I don't know anything else about the sensor. If I were you, I would let those sparky guys measure the pulse voltage or something. Do a little math to figure out how many pulses per mph (look at the piece of metal that the speed sensor is sensing). It isn't rocket science. I just am not an electrical eng.
