Default Lager Oil Filter for the V-Fore 700

Has anyone tried to use a larger oil filter on the V-Fore 700 other then the stock. Wondering if a larger automotive type oil filter will work?

My thinking is… Larger Filter = More Oil = Cooler Motor?

Default Larger Oil Filter for the V-Fore 700

I am using the www.scottsperformance.com which is a 304 stainless screen cloth filter & can provide up to 200% more filter area in many cases. (reuseable/cleanable filter)
I have noticed my Prairie 650 runs cooler with this Scotts filter (has cooling fins on outer filter housing). It is not cheap at $100 but it is washable & filters about 3 times better than your stock filter.
I do not know if the VForce is listed yet on there order form but a quick email on their contact us page, should help you out to see if it will work for the VForce.

Thanks... I was looking for some thing like that. Yes the Prarie and the V-Force use the same filter.

Default Larger Oil Filter for the V-Fore 700

I am currently running the Mobil 1 M1-110 oil filter in my V-Force 700. It works great and holds a little more oil then the stock filter.

P.S. Found the information below listed on another forum:

All oil filters listed below have the right threads for the 650. This list was compiled by a very technically minded motorcycle enthusiast. Note that most motorcycles and ATV's use the same threads on their filters. I have verified some of these filters myself, but not all.

The thread depth is a concern on some quads like the Parie 400 and Grizzly 660, since the oil fitting does not have threads all the way to the filter mount plate. In those cases, you can see which of these filters provide the appropriate thread depth by opening the package and measureing the depth with a caliper. I helped a 660 owner find a filter and we just looked for one that had deep recessed threads similar to the OEM filter.

The 650 does not appear to have any of the same thread depth problems as many other quads have, so I think all of these filters will work well with it.
