Too much power for the 589s ???
#1
I have what I consider to be a defect in one of my ITP 589's. For want of a better explanation I would say that the lugs are seperating from the main body of the tire. Air leaks out from the corners where the lugs are bonded to the tire and several of them are loose and appear as if they want to tear away from the tire. Every couple of days the tire goes flat and this is getting a little annoying. The dealer is going to try to get the tire replaced under warrenty but I was just wondering if anyone experienced any problems similiar to this. Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks

take that module off, your torturing your tires. just kidding, i am sure you read the previous posts about issues with ITP tires, your one tire could be a defect, hopefully you can get it replaced under warranty. I had one of my mudlites go flat last week, for no apparent reason, came back from a ride, couple of hours later dead flat. I looked for any sign of puncture and couldn't find any. pumped it back up, all appears well. I figure i must have broken the seal or something around the rim.
You must be doing alot of sudden take offs.......

I got ITP 589's M/S stock size on my p650. I have about 350miles on them without any problems arising from the manufacturing of the tire. The second week had the bike. I hit a piece of steel on a sand trail, going about 50mph. I cut a couple lugs, but no substantial damage. The cuts never deepen or split. The steel I ran over was sharp and narrow. I was lucky to have a deep lug pattern. Many other tires would have perished.
The only real problem I have with my 589's is that they dig up my lawn every time I take the bike out of the shed. They have a really good byte to them!
