Default Electronics. . .

to make my P650 more user friendly by giving me system information and keeping me aware of potential problems I want to hook up some electronic like a Tach, Differential Temps, Water Temp, Engine temp, a Voltage/charging meter. . . ..... yes, no or maybe?

How do I hook up a Reverse/Back-up light correctly?

Can the electrical system handle an AC/DC power converter in the 1.5 to 2K (3K would be better) range?

Thanks
DBCooper

No way will it handle that large of an inverter. A 3k will pull about 250 amps. I'm told that the typical ATV alternator is about 80 watts (6 amps). You could pull a trailer load of trolling motor batteries but you'd have to charge them before you left the house. What are you trying to power on the trail?

I use my P650 as more of a farm utility tractor and not really on the trail bike.

I have a small farm that I work and my batt powered tools keep running down after a few hours. I have 2 extra batts each for my tools, But, i hate coming home to recharge them. Guess a small Honda gennie is what i need.

Yeah, you woudn't need 3000 watts for that. A 3k generator is about as big as some 4 wheelers. If you were only gonna run a charger you could probably get away with a 300watt and power two chargers at the same time. I would wire it so that it is only on when the engine is running. Look at the label on the charger itself and see what the amperage output is, either in watts or amps, and I could tell you better. Really what we need to know is the amp input or draw of the charger but typically theydon't list that. It can be calculated from the output though.

Yeah but that won't run the margarita mixer back at camp.

Actually I have one. Its on a Weedeater brand edger frame with a right angle drill adapter and a flex-coupling for a driveshaft. Its modded with an extra large capacity pitcher. Real cool for tailgate parties because it rolls from place to place. Displacement is stock and I don't need a pipe because it's loud enough already. Thumb throttle just like the Raptor. Stock tires too. When I mix margaritas at the races, all the other campers come over because they think I am cutting up firewood or something.
Every year someone says they are gonna build a bigger or better one but I havn't seen it yet. When they do I'll have to upgrade. Hmmmm, how about a tiller? Four stroke torque and you could drive it on both sides. Margaritas and Daquiris maybe.
