Default 1st disappointment w/ 700

While in NY last week I had the opportunity to take my V on a MX track for the 1st time. It handled well, and jumped well. But, I had the rear suspension set too soft, and kept bottoming out. So I wanted to pull out the trusty spanner wrench, graciously supplied to me by the good folks at Kawasaki, for free, with the purchase of my V, and adjust the rear shock. To my surprise and disappointment, there was no way to get the wrench onto the adjustment nut! No matter how I approached the task, something was in the way(frame, pipe, tool kit) So I was never able to really launch my V. As it turns out, in order the adjust the rear shock, you must first remove it! Making adjustments in the field impossible, and the spanner wrench useless, because the sockets required to remove the shock were not included.

Do a search for "P650 shock adjustment". You'll find some hints there.

Spanner Wrenches never seem to work on ATV rear shocks. I always put the machine up so the wheels are off the ground and use a hammer and long screw driver. Sometimes a little WD40. Works much better than a spanner wrench.

I just adjusted mine yesterday, there should be 2 span wrenches in there, one for each side. Hope that helps

Spanner wrenches suck. I always use a long drift punch and hammer. Works every time. Hope that helps.

The hammer and punch method will have to do until I can talk my wife into 2 grand for the Elka's. It will probably be a while though since her ride is currently waiting for the insurance adjuster. That's the P650 my buddy wrecked.

I also discovered a problem with my vforce, when I turn the wheels all the way to the left, it kills the engine??? goin to the shop tommorrow, something is grounding out somewhere. Also a question for ya'll, This vforce is brand new should I have to give it gas to start it? alot of other new quads I've ridden start up without having to hit the gas.
