Temperture Guage
Hey guys,
Has anyone ever installed a temperature guage on their P(KVF) 650 ?? I'm not a huge fan of idiot lights...and would like to know exactly what she's running for temp, so rad cleaning can be " preventitive " as opposed to " reactive " (after the heat light comes on).

Jeff,
Asked the same question a few days ago with no response. Everyone was busy I guess. In the topic called "Electronics . . ." I have been thinking that if the P650 is prone to over heating the a temp gauge would be a lot better than an idiot light. I also wondered about trannie temps.
Hope we get an answer.

Everyone must be out riding, in fact, I'm getting ready to load up right now!!
There are several people on here that have gauges. I know Highlifter makes one, and also I saw another brand in dirtwheels, I'll try to find it.
I am interested in one too w/ Summer heat coming on. There is a way to hook them up and still retain the idiot light, just in case you aren't looking at your gauge.
I'm sure somebody else will chime in soon and set us straight.

where did you guys have to tap into a cooling line on your 650's? Did the kit come with sufficient installation instructions? I've never had my temp light come on, although I have had my fan running a lot in muddy conditions.... It would be nice to know temp, and really would be nice to know rpms.. Too bad kaw didn't include those...

Hey guys,
I installed a J & T temp guage on mine were the ignition key was. You can see it on My Page.
It took alittle time to do it but it works great. They offer either a mechanical $69.95 or an electric $79.95 model, I got the mechanical. It gets tied in the collant line between the thermostat and the top of the radiator. The number is 810 664 3987 or WWW.JTATV.COM
I like mine and it seems to work well! The only thing is that when I need to take off my front fender I have to remove the connection at the coolant line which loses alittle coolant each time.
Check them out!
