Default Oil Change

I am going to borrow my friends Kawasaki Mojave 250. He says in order to do so I need to change the oil and "drain the gas". Would anyone have any information which might help me complete this task. Basiclly I need to know do I need to take it to a shop or can this be completed on my own. Does the gas and oil both have drain plugs? Any pitfalls I should watch out for? Thanks in advance.

There's no need to take it to the shop, it is pretty easy. To drain the oil, look underneath the bike and you will see a screw (very similar to the screw that drains oil from a car or truck). As far as draining the gas, there is a drain plug connected to the carb( the plug is near the gas swithch). Make sure the gas is on in order to drain it. I have done this to my lakota which is very similar to the mojave. That's the best I can explain it without showing you or sending any pictures. Since this is your first post, don't hesitate to keep responding till you get it and you borrow the bike=)
