V Force recall

No offense MnFriesen but on kawasaki's own website it says it will cause the throttle to stick, maybe you need to be enlightened. So I guess when something has a recall it makes it better. Hmmm that's an interesting way of looking at it.

250-EX -- My machine was a machine that had a recall. The throttle did stick. I also took it to the dealer, and they installed a new cable and made the corrections to the carb while I waited. It is the first year out for the 700 V-Force. If you want to start to bash, take a look at the 250ex you ride. How pre-historic off a wuad is that? AIR COOLED? Is Honda not aware that people have invented such things as coolant? What has Honda came out with in the performace sector? Nothing! I know you Honda guys keep spreading rumors about the quad with a dirt bike motor.... Lets see it? The only thing Honda has came out with is an under powered 4x4.
I was unhappy that my quad had a recall, but what are you going to do? If you want the latest and the best and don't want to wait for the bugs to be worked out then you need to deal with small problems. How would you like to buy a new 500 Predator and have the frame crack...

I'm not a Honda fanatic either I currently have a Yamaha Enticer, Polaris 2 up snowsled, Kawasaki Voyager, 250 Ex, and a Arctic Cat ZL 600 so it would hard to say I was loyal to Honda's. Obvious I was interested in buying something other than a Honda if I was at a Kawasaki dealership and read the recall notice on Kawasaki.com. The point wasn't to bash Kawasaki's as some have taken it. I was just saying that I was glad that I waited and didn't buy a first year quad. By the way I have rode with a Z250 and contrary to what you might think they don't always win.

OK, maybe I took your post a little too hard, but there is a trend developing with Honda guys slamming our Kawi's on our forum.
Here is the bottom line 250EXdude, the recall you speak of was a very minor problem in terms of the solution. True, the consequences could have been serious no doubt, but in the grand scheme of "first year bikes", this is not even noteworthy. Take a look at the Raptor which caused Yamaha to lose a lot of fans (including myself) by putting our a machine with a faulty gearbox and letting thier customers fend for themselves if it failed out of warranty. That is no way to do business and I will never buy a Yammy because the way they approach customer service.
Kawasaki on the other hand, issues Recalls and Technical Service Bulletins to fix problems even though people (like you unfortunatly) will take it as a negative and bash them for it. If they would not have issued the recall, you probably would never have know there was a problem. Which is better? You have to give these guys some credit for doing the right thing. Not all manufacturers do.
The 250EX is not even in the same league as the V Force, so I seriously doubt that you were "torn" between the two. I don't know your real story, but noone in thier right mind is on the fence between a V Force and a 250EX unless they really don't know squat about the machines.
Just in case you are for real, I have ridden a 250EX and I own a V. If you bought a 250EX, you will soon grow out of it and want a faster more capable bike. I would strongly recommend that you do not have a nearsighted approach to the Kawasaki's issuing of recalls and TSB's. In terms of a first year bike, the V Force is based largely on the Prairie 650 which has been tested and proven.

The more arrogant the Honda guys are, the more pleasing it is when I obliterate the heavily modified 400EX's. Then of course the Honda guys say, "what do you expect, that thing is a 700". Then I just smile and say "yeah it sure is, good thing Kawasaki isn't sitting on thier asses" and ride away feeling very satisfied.
Bring on the next Honda. If it follows Honda tradition, it will be a 650cc with no reverse and only a pull rope starter.

I definitely wasn't torn between buying a 250 and the V, the 250 is a perfect fit for my situation. My young nephews ride it so much I usually don't see it unless it needs to be filled up with gas. Perfect beginner quad since they aren't used to a manual clutch.

whats manual clutch have to do with anything???? damn honda loyalists.........always thinking they bigger and badder till we knock 'em down a peg or 2. I tell ya, what this world coming to..........
