Default nyroc 650 exhaust mod, a question.

Just got part way through doing the exhaust mod(burned up my cheap bit). 650 already seems to have come alive, wheelies easy in low or high, was kinda tough to bring the front end up before. Always was easy with the stock tires on though. Sounds pretty cool too. My question is, with the packing cut out of the end cap, has anyone found the muffler fills up with mud easily. I ask because the screen inside the packing on mine is full of mud, obviously it does get in there somewhat. Also, what did you use to cut the packing out and enlarge the hole. Thanks for any help, I can't wait to get finished and try it out on the trails.

U used a hole saw, but it was hard to do. I had to finish it with a rasp bit. A cut torch would be easier but messier.

My machine hasn't gotten in mud that deep since I did the mod, and what mud flips up never stays stuck in there. It always gets cleaned out by exhaust.

Thanks Nyroc, I guess the added exhaust velocity should help to push any mud gobs out. I think I'll get the shop welder where I work to cut out the silencer tip, he's a magician with a torch. Then of course he can weld the cap back on as well. Can't wait.

I used a cutting torch, also use it to cut "C" shaped slots in the inside baffles.

We didn't enlarge the opening and used a small chisel to punch away the packing then a die grinder to clean up the roughness. This opens up the endcap without changing the apperance and also gives it some form of protection from flying gobs of mud.

After I cut the end cap off I had a guy use a torch and cut the spark arrestor out. I also drilled 8, 1/2" holes through the baffles with a 13" long drill bit. Then had the guy weld the endcap back on.

Really cant beat it for $25. I didnt even have to remove the muffler.
