mojave power loss? HELP
#1
i have a 1989 mojave 250, it starts and idle fine but when you give it gas it bogs down and sputters.
with the k&n filter off the back of the carb you can see and feel air and fuel blow back out of the carb when you give it gas.
the timing is right on, the valves are adjusted, the exhaust isn't plugged, the slide diaphram doesn't have a hole in it, it has 120lbs of compression and the carb is clean with a new kit installed.
all the electrical checks out fine, just bought a klr 250 CDI,coil and rectifier from a guy on ebay for $40 just for kicks and will try that when i get it.
anyone have any other suggestions?
i am at a loss
thanks

Have yA CHECKED the carburetor for any small tacos or kids?,jk.Serious tho if ya take the bottom of carb off an see dirt, clean it out, make sure the floats are at the correct level.SInce you didnt say anything bout the mods I dont know if your bike is jetted or not.I run afuel filter on mine cheap insurance against stuff in the tank being passed to the carb Also run clean fresh fuel where even this oxygenated crap attracts water an can go stale in weeks.bad fuel can make a bike sputter an gag worse then a chaim smoker an make it har to start..If it was running fine before what ever You did then go ack an recheck that stuff.Hope this helps.
