Bing, Looks like we need to hit the dirt soon and try it again. Believe me a win would be pretty nice right about now!

hey techtip, it sounds like your not happy with your V's performance....What was your expectation when you bought it? I didn't expect the V to be the king drag racer and now that it is pretty damn competitive, I am pleasantly suprised. Sounds like you had unrealistic expectations or something.

I did expect it to be a little faster. I had hopes for it being faster than the Raptor, I don't think that is unrealistic. However, I am posting realistic results. IN the sand on the hills and the flats, I was consistently beaten on the V-force. I still enjoy it. I wouldn't get rid of it. It is the perfect quad for me. The ergos on it are great for me. I am 6'3" tall and I am about 225lbs. The quad is plenty fast. I just had expected it to be a little faster than it is. For sand drags, I am planning on building a Banshee. The reality is that Raptor and the BAnshee are faster machines.

In stock form, the KFX700 is a little lacking in the top end. it will reach roughly the same top speed as all the rest of them, just not as quick.

In the Sand, the weight of the 700 is a definate disadvantage. Because of it's weight it tends to ride lower in the sand wich causes more resistance. On the hard pack, it has better performance.

For anyone that doesn't think that the KFX700 has the potential to be a Bad-A** Drag machine, go here: "Samcoeds V-force was knocking them off...." and read this Thread.

If I put my 6 year old on it, it would certainly win!

I don't want to get into I beat htis and that war but I race on Pavement and a Stock Raptor will not come back around my V. I have raced 4 diffrent raptors, a GG3 something, 1 ds and 3 z's not to mention the little guys on the 300ex's. The closest thing to my v was the DS. It was faster then the raptors and the Gas Gas was right there with the Raptor. I like the Yamai's but I wanted a fast automatic that did not have a chain and I got just that. Maybe the sand hurts the v but the pavement doesn't.

I have not raced on sand....and in the mountains of KY...I probably will never get the chance to. All I know is that I consistently beat my friend on his stock Raptor (enough times that he just bought a FMF exhaust last week)...(don't think I'll be racing him anymore). He and I are about the same weight / height / experience level on our quads. He has beat me a few times (when I get a bad start)....but....on dirt....on flat land...if I get a good start....I will stay ahead.

I don't like to drag that much. I'm more of a trails guy. And to that point v/s other atv(s):
-pieces of my bike don't fall off everytime I go riding.
-I don't have to worry about my chain getting loose after a bunch of jumps.
-I don't get hung up on every stump, rock, or tree lying in my path
-I don't feel like I've been beaten with a stick at the end of a day riding.
-I don't stall out on steep hills cause I'm trying to down shift on rocks
-my brake never gives out b/c it never gets wet / muddy
-etc...etc...etc...

I just appreciate this machine for its design and build. It's just down right fun to ride....and (JMO) shouldn't be taken lightly in a race.
