they rock, they are faster than anything made today. (except maybe the new yahama 450). My wife likes to ride occasionally, so I am going to buy an old tecate 4 In a couple of months. When she wants to ride I am going to ride it and she can ride the P 650.

They are just a kx 250 motor on a narrow light frame. Lots of power, does not handle that great stock, you will probably need to put wider A- arms and axel on it to race it.

A lot of used ones are bored to 295 cc and they will fly, I mean dangerous fast, like 85 mph. They are also very relaible and simple to work on, and still fairly easy to get parts for in the aftermarket. Things like axels are still being made for them. The only thing really hard to get for them right now is the plastic.

If you can find a clean good running one for under $2,000. Jump on it. It will be a great bang for the buck deal, and I doubt too many people will be able to out run you.

Also most of them are lime green, they look really cool.

your the man, damn that's a good price. Front tires will be no problem, you can get another axel in the aftermarket check out durablue axels. do a forum seach for tecate 4. There is a guy on here who specializes in them, look him up.

if you hear of another one that cheap, than runs good, PM me. I had an 88 KX 125 and a yahama 225 moto 4 atv, when I was in High School. I good buddy of mine had an 88 tecate 4 and we used to trade them for the weekend. (my Kx 125 to his tecate 4. ) for a saturday and then trade back. we joked about swapping permanenly and I wish I would have done it.

For that price, you can't go wrong, other than a reverse gear, the tecate 4 can't be stopped. I hope I find a good deal on one. keep me posted on yours. and keep your eyes out for a deal.
