You wanna try to keep your radiator clean as possible... when you get mud and other debris stuck in the fins of the radiator it will over heat pretty easy. I have heard of people carrying around a mini pressure washer type unit...don't exactly know what they are called but if you do a search on radiator im sure you will find all the info you seek.

I had the same problem and found that the bottom of the radiator was full of mud. The only thing to do is hose it out. One note, though, just about the time you think it is clean, you still got a lot of washing to do. I found it best to soak the mud that is there, let it set for a while, and hose it clean.
To make the cleaning process easier, I have hinged the grill so that it opens and exposes the radiator. I plan to close the openings through which the mud gets to the radiator. The plastic piece that covers the winch attaches so that the bottom two inches of the radiator are not covered. Also, both side panels have a section cut away for a winch motor. A winch only fills one of the cut away sections. So, the other one provides easy access for the mud to clog the radiator.

highlifter hase a portible pressure washer thing .you plug it in to your 12v outlet(i think) or it runs of batteries not sure. But you put it in a lake/river etc. and it will suck up water and it will come out a hose .
BUT IF ALL ELSE FALES JUST USE A SUPPER SOAKER. THEY HAVE PLENTY OF PRESSURE

I get the same problem and have to spray water in the grill until it is clear coming out the bottom, the guy that has it where his grill opens great idea. I normally have to clean my fins after every mud trip

Shouldn't use a pressure washer. My nieghbor just spent $170 (or something close to it) on a new Grizzly radiator. He used a pressure washer and flattened the aluminum fins so air couldn't get through.

pressure washers are nothing but BIG trouble!!!! End up spending a bunch of money on repairs use a good hand hose and soak eveything down let it set for a few minutes and go back and rinse the mud off. We use Greased L:ightning you can by it at walmart pretty cheap and it knocks all the crud off -- apply the greased lightning on after you are finished riding and let it sit for 10 minutes it turns everything to looking like new., Also some guys spray everthing down with wd-40 before a ride and the crud comes off also.

WD-40 will ruin your plastic over time, it contains solvents, use Armoural or Son Of A Gun...I've even heard of people using Pam cooking spray, don't know the long term effects of using the non stick cooking sprays yet...I just bought a small pump up sprayer ( like for spraying weeds etc. ) it's a small one, only holds 1.5 gallons, has a long wand to reach in to the radiator... the pressure washers can do a lot of damage to your radiator, seals & bearings, boots, etc. if you aren't very carefull with them... you can purchase the lower plastic in front of the radiator for an '03 model, it is improved & goes up all the way to the radiator... be carefull driving when your quad is hot, the coolant filter ( small tube that runs to the carbs ) has been known to melt very easy, & the radiator fill piece is plastic, & has been known to warp if your quad gets too hot...the fill neck is expensive to replace...Have A Good One...WAM
