650 submarine!!
#1
Howdy gang,
I put the old 650 under water this week end. It was totally submerged. I changed spark plugs, & cleaned the air cleaner. It took 2 oil & filter changes to get the inside clean. It now runs as good as new again! They are a tough breed!!!!!!! I saw the new 700 Prairie today & aside for a little change to the racks and a semi Rincon looking piece of plastic on the bumper there isnt much visual difference. The price was $6550 out the door with a ranch exemption at Pasadena Kawasaki. Later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to hear that, but good for me I guess, as I never stalled out, just went up to the top of my wheels for a short period while crossing a stream. Thanks for the info though, I appreciate it. I am learning as I just purchased these ATVs.

Same hydro lock happened to me approx. a month ago. I cleaned everything u[ and changed the fluids followed by a day of riding and everything felt normal. Went riding again 3 weeks later and the 2 and 4 wheel drive lights started flashing alternatively indicating a failure of the Engine braking system. The motor was stuck about 1/3rd of the way through the cycle putting pressure on the belt. I took the top of the motor cover off (3 easily accessible phillips screws on top of the clutch housing cover assembly) and found white oxidation type of contamination inside the motor cover and on the armature. I cleaned the armature, housing and re-lubed the bearing and all worked well.
Just FYI if yours starts acting up after playing submarine. The symptom you will experience other than the flashing lights is that when in a gear, the quad will try to move forward at idle with no throttle.
