Are Fram oil filters the same as OEM kawi filters?

Went to the Stealer today to get GENUINE Kawasaki oil filters for my 360 and 650, he produced two Fram filters and charged me $10 each. He said that this is the same as the kawi filter, I know from my jeeps and dodge cummins that you NEVER use a POS Fram filter. Are these bad for the quads? If not I'll get them at autozone for $5 bucks next time.

Fram are known not to be the best oil filters to use. I think the stock filter will move more oil than a Fram, unless Fram has upgraded their products.
I won't even use a Fram in my Powerstroke anymore, as I have found out that the stock Ford brand is a better filter & cost the same.
A while back I switched over to a Scotts performance oil filter for my P650, not cheap at $110 but it is washable & reusable for the life of the Vtwin 650 Prairie or any other Prairie 650/700 Vforce that I buy to replace this present P650 that I now have. With the hot summer days here now, I have noticed that my Scotts oil filter keeps my P650 oil cooler over any of the paper oil filters that I used before, as my cooling fan now only comes on 1/2 as much as before & when taking a break with the engine off, the fan does not cycle on & off like it did with the stock or other brand of oil filters. For the most part, the fan stays off & if it does come on, it is on for only about 30 sec & it turns off, during a engine turn-off break.
I realize most P650 owners will not spend that much for a oil filter but I had my reasons to try this Scotts oil filter & so far I am %110 happy with the results.

I have heard BAD things about Fram products. I have been using a larger Purolater "Pure-One" preminum filter for about a year. Well made, 40% larger than stock.

Howdy Gang,
I think that you may be mistaken about the quality of Fram filters. I have used them on my 650 for 2 years and have had no deleterious side effects. There have always been the rumors of problems with Fram but to date I have seen no documented evidence of problems with them. I have used them on race cars and not had any problems. Have a goodun!!!!!!!!

My father in law works at fram. Well acutually it's called honeywell but they build fram oil filters, air filters, etc. He told me to go with a ph6607 and i wouldn't go wrong. He uses fram oil filters, fuel filters, and air filters in his cummings. I have used the same fram filter ph6607 for awhile now and i haven't had any problems at all.
I have also heard a lot of rumors about fram oil filters being bad......... where is the evidence?
I get a good tight fit from mine, no leaks, no problems. Go fram!
P.S. Im not just saying that cuz my father in law works there. They do make a good product!
