P-650 Max speeds in high and low
I was putting some tire slime into my rear tires last night and to spin them afterwards I jacked up the rear end so I could put the quad in gear and spin the tires without riding it for a mile or so. Just for giggles, I ran the speed up as high as it would go in both low and high range. Here is what the absolute speed was when the rev limiter kicked in:
High=68 mph
Low=43 mph
When actually riding and comparing my true GPS speed to my indicated speed, my speedometer is about 5% fast.

There's no replacement for displacement. Well, unless its 2-stroke!

If I understand correctly the speed sensor comes off the drive shaft and should have no effect on whether the tires wer off the ground or not. I did notice that while looking at the tires when they got moving very fast, the diameter increased and the width got narrower. If they stayed fairly round at high speed while touching the ground the extra tire diameter should allow for somewhat higher speed with the same engine RPM. Either way, on my Praire, the absolute true MPH that the rev limiter will allow with stock tires is approx. 64mph. So unless larger tires are installed and there is a big hill and tailwind with a hooters girl as the rider, I think that is all the quads will do with the rev limit.

I've had my 650 up to 44 in low and up to 67 in high on the salt flats.(That's what my speedo said) I did hit 69 once though (on the speedo) going on a downhill. G.P.S said i was doin 67. Hooters girl might have helped!! Don't know about the tail wind.

P-650 Max speeds in high and low
My 650, when she was new, hit 67 in high and I accidently left it in low one day and floored it trying to keep up with a Polaris sport and was wondering why the bike started to sputter at 52 mph and I finally figured out it was still in low, so...........
high--- 67 mph
low----52 mph (thought she was going to blow)
After sinking her in a 6 foot deep overflowing creek and putting 27" tires on..............
high---- 56mph
low----40 mph
lost a lot after filling everything up with water and having to almost replace an engine (keep her dry boys).
Can't wait for the new CDI to add top end back to its original atleast!!!

Remeber that when the tires r off the ground the is no load on the tires.
So the only weight the motor is pushing is the tires and not a 600lb machine
with a 175lb rider(just a guess). So the wheels will spin faster than when your
riding it JUST MY 2 CENTS
