Default V Lost

For the first time, my V got beat. I knew it was bound to happen. It is a 515 #, stock automatic. How fast did I think it was. After beating up on Raptors, I was fealin' cocky though. And sure enough it happened. I had my a$$ handed to me by a kid on a DS650. We ran 1/4 mile up a slight hile, on black top. I know, the V has some top end issues. But I should get the hole shot right? Then just try to hold him off for as long as possible right? Did not work that way at all. I got a great start, he was right next to me. He hit 2nd gear and just walked away. He crushed me be 6 lengths.
Anyway, I still love my V. Now I have an excuse to buy mods for my stock ride. I mean, I can't let kids on four wheelers made by a snowmobile company beat me. In the sake of fairness though, I had to tell the facts.

I went to the sand dunes yesterday (thursday?) and there was only 1 other person there, on a ds650. I would have loved to race him, it sounded stock cause it was really quiet, but he went on a short spin then went right back into his motorhome. I also found out that apache helecopters are very quiet. One flew 20ft over my head and I didn't even hear it till it was over me. That's a serious killing machine. I got the strange feeling he was practicing on me.

Hey don't feel bad, the DS650 is the fastest production quad made. You should be proud of your machine. If your macine were a manual you probabally would have been closer or even one. The DS smokes raptors all the time and so did you. You should be proud!

Green 700 I can attest to the Apache being a sneaky chopper , i live not far from a base where they do test runs and sometimes i feel they are zeroing in on me too even if i try tohide in the woods it's stil creepy .

my buddy has a vforce which is all stock and then i have 2003 brand new stock raptor and i hand it to him all day at the sand dunes. we havent raced yet on dirt or street but i think it would be a close race. i am kinda scared on dirt but when it comes to sand i can beat him all day long, up comp hill or at the flats.
was empressed with the v force but going to be hard to mod the engine though, raptor will have the bottle on it soon!!!
