Default Can someone that has jetted his 700 PM me pls.

Hey Put, First time jetter here. HMF sent me a 45 and a 48 jet. I was wondering about the positives and negatives on removing the snorkle and drilling holes in the air box. Should I do that and switch to a 60 and 65 jet?
I dont want a sputtering quad..
Also where on the carbs are the jets located. I took off the Black caps and there was just a spring in there. Its hard to take the carbs out because of all the cables attached.
Need to know how to access the jets or any links to instructions. Flying blind here...
Thanks!!!

Hey ZZ,
Some here may disagree, but I myself havn't found it nessesary to remove the snorkel nor drill a bunch of holes in the air box. If you do, you will need to jet up as much as you say, if not, the 142/148 set up should be fine. I'm running the DMC Aliens and 140/145 main jets and a Twin Air Filter, My V runs strong, no sputtering, no backfiring and fast enough for me. As far as I'm concerned, by opening up the airbox, removing the snorkel, and richening the jetting to the 160's, you'll gain on the top end but might lose some on the bottom end. This has alway held true for me. What you opened up was the top of the carbs which contain the slides. Remove the four phillip screws on the other side of the carb (Bottom) and you'll see the main jets. If it's your first time, take it slow and easy. As I said before, and I can't stress this enough. If your going to do any wrenching yourself, break down and buy a service manual, better yet, a parts manual, it breaks everything down in exploded views, good luck and don't be afraid to ask for help here, Take care, Putt
