my belt triped the cvt switch and i fliped it back but now the bike wont rev. I wheb to nyroc site and was going to do the belt light reset procedure but i could not find the the 5 point connectors that are gray and black. my whole speedo is flashing realy fastand the neutrale and reverse lights are flashing. DO you have a service manaul, look on P 16-70 for a flow chart of stuff to check.

Test the belt failure switch. Check the connector.
Check the relay associated with the failure switch.
Check the diode (in harness, 3 diodes in a 6 connector housing).

There is a lot of info here. I can't type it all, a lot of it is photos. Get a service manual.

I never used thar reset procedure. A lot of other people have used it successfully. If I were you, I would go back a look closer.

I have crap I hafta do tomorrow, or I might try to take a look and see if I can find those and describe them to you.

Can someone else help venom find those connectors referred to in the belt light reset procedure?

 

The connectors are above the cvt cover, under the extreme lower right side of the air cleaner cover plastice and bundled by the ignition coil. if you are at the side of the bike look at the right side of the CV cover and then look directly above it. It helps if you remove the plastic cover surrounding the air cleaner housing. The cover also has the gear shift rod running through it. All you have to do to remove is take a phillips screw out each side, remove the seat and remove the three 10mm head bolts that hold the battery bracket in place. Move the batter backwards and then take the cover off for better vision of the wires. Be careful to not lose the two metal washer inserts on the sides of the battery hold down bracket.

Once you find the wires, follow the re-set procedure making sure you keep the wires connected at least 5 seconds with the key on.

 

thanks for the help nyroc but im only 15 and know $hit about electronicts. if what your derections are refering to is the four little boxs under the shift lever than i would apreciat it if someone could tell me witch ones to switch. All my service manuel says is that once the switch is triped it is ruined and you need to buy a new torque converter cover . Thats BS. I dont have any money to spare since i just bought a truck and my insurence is going to shaft me hard.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

15? wow, you got 10 years to go before insurance gets cheaper for you.

Take the two wires going to the belt trip switch and connect them together (gets rid of belt trip switch).

Those boxes are relays (powered switches). Look where tonerpuke pointed you to, and find the grey connector and the black connector.

Once you found those, go back to prairiepuppy's reset procedure on my website and follow it.

 

hey man!!!! the same thing just happened to my prairie!! i was at the dunes and i was jumping with the banshees and i messed up and jumped really far and high. and when i landed i stretched my belt and messed up my deflection switch! so i went to kawasaki and they told me that i was gonna hafta bring it in and they was gonna have to fix it and i told them NO!!! because they were gonna charge me 55 dollars an hour to work on it. so the guy took me out back and he showed me where the wires are that you are talking aobut, they are behind the right sode panel that is byt he airbox that where it says kawasaki-v-twin. it is way the heck up in there. once you get it out then unplg the black from the black and the grey from the grey and plug the black into the grey and the grey into the black (wires), then after you have them plugged up to black to grey and grey to black then turn your key on and look at the belt light switch it will blink really slow insted of really fast. wait for about 10 seconds and the light should go off. then plug them back up the right way(black to black, and grey to grey) then make sure the deflecton swith is in the on position on the black thing that houses your belt and then fire it up and it should run right.
