New Kawi 2-stroke racer?
I had to chuckle when I first saw this post. Now, after talking to a good friend who is the head mechanic at a Kawie dealer I'm a little more optamistic. He said that back when Kawie was racing the "KFX 250" in gncc that the R&D got the green light to build production version with a counterbalanced engine, but the people making the final decision have been sitting on it for 2 years. In light of how well the V-Force is selling and with the competition putting out racers the word is that they may build this thing after all to get customers until their 450 engine is finished. Once it's complete and proven in a few years they can keep the customers and swap over to the 4 stroke. He said one of the engineers where he takes training classes said that the final desision will be made shortly. He asked the guy how he thought it would compare against the YFZ and they guy said they have already tested it and gave a big thumbs up. I will personally believe it when i see it, but hey, like i said I'm more optamistic now.

Man, I would jump on a new 2-stroke quickly. There is no reason why they could not build it either. People say that there will be no new 2-stroke because of emissions. That is not really true because of the way the law is written. It does not say each individual machine has to pass a certain emission requirement. It take an average of all the machines from a manufacturer as a whole so you could have some that are far below the requirements and some above to meet the average. I would not be surprised to see Yamaha keep the Banshee and Blaster because they have so many 4-stroke models to compensate for the two 2-strokers they have. Lets hope that they do come out with one, because I think it would rock.
