Default 2nd over bore

alright guys this isnt about a quad but its about my kd 175. that will need a replacement piston. now for ths 2nd over bore, do i actually have to take it in to get it bored to except this piston? this bike is old and my dad and me are doing a rebuild. ps i will post pics once its complete.

OK, let me see if I understand what you're saying -- the bike needs a bore? If you need to put a new piston in there and you're going larger then yes, you'll need to get it bored. Order your piston one size over and give the piston to the shop doing the boring so that they can match them up better for you. The size of the current piston can be found on the top of it. You might have to sand down the black build up to be able to read it. If you don't really need a piston then you might be able to hone the cylinder and put new rings on the piston. You'll have to check the tolerance between the current piston and the cylinder wall. Pull your head and check it out. Hope that helps.
