Default How often do you change your oil?

The P650 owner's manual says to change the oil every 100 hours/3 months (or earlier if ridden in dusty or muddy conditions), buy my local dealer told me to change it every 25 hours. Its been 25 hours since my last oil change, so I changed my oil today and the old oil did not look very dirty. How often do you change the oil in your quad?

PS - I ride on dusty trails about 40 to 50% of the time, and I always use Bel Ray 20W-50 semi-synthetic oil.

Every 50 hours, and it still looks brand new and not even a hint of dark. At this next 50 hour interval I'm going to send of a sample to be analyzed, and see whats going on. Most likely 75 or 100 hour intervals are ideal on the p650. Other bikes have different setups and are harder on the oil. Since our engine oil isn't shared with the clutch etc, and the engines are liquid cooled, it's not really beaten up too badly. I have Amsoil 4-stroke ATV 0w-40 full synthetic in the engine and front diff. It's smooth as butter.

I change mine every 40 hours...we ride in pretty dusty conditions. $22.00 is cheap insurance.(filter & oil) My Truck changes it's own oil little by little

I just put the same Amsoil in my engine last week. I was going to use regular KawiChem in the front diff but perhaps I should go ahead and use the Amsoil. Has it worked out pretty well? One guy told me synthetics might
leak when used in a diff.

I was going to change my synthetic oil about every 40 to 50 hours but if it is still clear I will go longer. I was going to change the filter every second oil change as well.

Wheel Cow - I also use Amsoil 4 stroke 0W-40 in the engine and front diff. I love the stuff! Seems really smooth and works great.

wheelcow, the front diff and engine are supposed to use the same fluid, per the manual. The rear is the only one that you use mobil 424/Kawchem in. Go for it, you wont believe how much easier the steering is.

Why are you chaning the oil and not the filter? Your just contaiminating the new oil. Your just wasting time and money.
