Clark, I have an 02 with a 03 air box, the DJ kit I used the needles out of is the K&N kit from Rocky Mountain ATV #81-Q210. It is a waste of money, you would be just as well of shimming your stock needles, lots of people have been doing that now..Check Nyrocks web sight for details

The 03 p-650 kit from DJ also included shorter slide springs. Can I use them if I go back to the stock jets and needle, or the Kehin jets and DJ needle?

Thanks

Ok guys educate me on this. Are you saying an 02 650 comes stock with a larger jet for the rear cylinder?
Why is that? is it a heat issue. My 650 is completely stock but it is the coldest natured machine I have EVER owned.Once fully warm it's fine but until then it does backfire alot in the carbs which I know is a lean condition.I got this this spring when it was warmer so I am worried that when deer season gets here (see cold weather) this is going to be a problem. What would you recommend for jetting leaving everything else stock?I don't need to go any faster seeing how I can already outrun any other stock 4wheelers I ride with....660 grizz and so forth.
Thanks
