Default design flaw in 650 swingarm

well boys and girls its time to tell you about the design flaw in the 650 kawi.I have heard some loud crunchs and snaps from my swing arm and figured i better check it out. after removing the swing arm i noticed there is no way to lube it or even to put any amount of grease in there that would stay, do to the fact that there is no oil or grease well in there ,just a empty housing that dropped down into a larger empty well for the drive shaft..Here is the cure for the problem . after you have removed the bearing cup from the housing, these are tapered bearings so there goes the plan for sealed bearings. cut some circles of plastic close to the same size of the cups, i used plastic from windshield washer jugs , oil jugs would work olso. The main thing is try to stay with something thin like shimstock and something designed for chemicals.I then put a bead of silicone into the housing around where the cup seats and then put in the plastic disc. try it first to make sure you have a loose fit, the silicone will seal it. next the bearing cup. yes this works and it holds the grease from running into the driveshaft well. this sealing setup could save your rearend. for when i removed my housing and wheeled it backward the oil from diff ran out . there is a seal in there i believe and it doesnt seem to be working . If the oil can run out water can run in. the plastic disc is a must and keeping a watch on rubber boot as these seem to weather and crack. If any one needs to have more info i will reply between quad runs. There is a kid staying next door with a banshee and he wants to see how we compare on take off. our playing around is going to enclude a great muskeg to see who is the fastest or the stuckest.
