Default vforce pink spring in sand review

Just had my first test with the Pink spring from EPI at the dunes.

The bottom is the same and the Mid is much better. Can lift the front end above 30 mph now. My buddy's raptor would pass me in the 3 - 4 gear range and now he passes me in 5. But we are closer in top speed. He use to be 2 - 3 mph top speed faster and now he is 1 mph faster.

Best 20 bucks I have ever spent.

Sounds like you need the Dalton'blue" to be even with the Rap....the EPI finish rate is 145 lbs, and you admitted you gained more speed...The dalton blue is 155 lbs, so 10 more pounds should let you pull about 200-250 more rpm on top, you may be able to run right with him with that spring.....

I only drive in the sand, so I guess this is the review I've been waiting for. Do you think it would make any difference at all climbing hills doing about 30mph? I guess I'll find out.

I just ordered one for 18.95 +4.45 UPS shipping. She said I'd get it tomorrow since we're in the same state.

Are any special tools required??????

Stakk,
I believe the EPI website indicates that their Pink primary spring is rated 73kg (or 161 lbs) at 1.25 inches of load. If this is accurate, that would mean the EPI Pink spring has about 6 more pounds of load than the Dalton Blue. Also, the Pink spring has pre-load (at 2.5 inches) of 11kg (or 24 lbs) compared to the Dalton Blue pre-load of 3 lbs(as posted on Dalton's website). I'm no expert in springs, I'm just passing along what their websites say. Hope this helps.

the spec's I got for the "pink" were wrong then......The dalton at 3 lbs preload is supposed to engage at 250 rpm more than stock, how much more does the EPI engage over the stock primary????

Climbing hills did seem easier, needed less throttle manipulation on really steep sections. All around better.

On big dunes I dont manipulate the throttle. I just open the carbs %100. I should know if it makes a difference. My 700 is really close to our 660R on hillshoots. Any changes will be detected. It's worth a try I guess.

Maybe you should also try 23" paddles. The ones I have will climb anything

24 lbs @ 2.5'' is going to engage substantially higher than stock on a kawi drive clutch.
