Default CVT lag?

My P650 has almost 900miles on it. I notice from a dead stop to wide open there is a lag for the clutch to engage. Is the black spring makeing this worse? Its not really a problem but when drag racing every second counts. Is there a way to fix it?
thanks

the black spring shouldnt be affecting it at all since all it does is help increase belt life (from what I have read previously)...later

The CDI takeoff retard causes that (holeshot modules fix it). Also, a glazed or loose belt can do it too.

My takeoff is instantaneous. I hit gas, I chuck rocks and dirt instantly. The black spring does allow the engine to wid up a little higher before upshifting starts. I don't think that slows you down, I think it speeds you up (at least at takeoff).

if your drag racing try holding the front brakes just barely get the tires spinning then gas it.

Thanks for the help. I my belt is tight, i dont have a modulator yet. The problem with holding the frt brakes is when im in an official drag its all done by computer, i dont know how much if any place there is in the sensor. Nyroc do you have a holeshot?
thanks

Yes, I have a DG holeshot. I am very happy with it.

does the dg holeshot increase the timing through the entire rpm range (from idle to top end) or just out of the hole?

Chop,
I also have a DG holeshot and it only affects the timing curve from the holeshot (does not affect timing at the top-end).

nyroc

Did you ever get the nabor's and the red 650 from alltoy's, or was it the freedom, anyway did you test them against each other?

Shotgun, I actually talked to the DG tech on the phone and became 100% convinced that the best any module could do was do the exact same thing as the DG module. All they do is prevent that takeoff lag from occuring, nothing else no matter what freq.

Anyway, I emailed Alltoys and asked him not to send them, since the best I could do is get results similar to newbeetle's results.

I have a new noise now. It might be swingarm bearing, might be the driveshaft. I am too tired to look now. But I am not looking forward to fixing something that I feel shouldn't be broken. I don't ride as rough as a lot of other people, nor do I ride mud as much (1300+ miles). Those things better not be bad or I will be upset.
