i was checking the coolant level in my radiator on my 700 praire today and saw some sort of residue floating at the top. i stuck my finger inside the radiator and it looks just like fresh motor oil. there is no white film in the radiator and my oil level has not dropped and has no white film. recently i had to take my machine back to the dealer because it had an air pocket in the radiator and was overheating. they flushed out the radiator and added new coolant. could this oily film be some sort of kawi coolant additive or do i have a blown head gasket. any ideas

cool the engine off so you dont get a face full of hot coolent. then remove the rad cap and watch the circulation , there should not be any bubbles, you may have too watch it for a while too see the fluid moving , they may have used some flush to clean the rad. usually they are fine liquids involved in this. sounds real odd that there was a air pocket causing the heating problem too start with, or thats the story they are giving you. i dont believe their is a problem, if their was it would probably be blowing out the coolent from being over pressured.
