Default Clutch Poundage- V Force Help!

I'm trying to put a list together of the different primary clutch springs and their respective poundage. Once I get enough info on the primary springs used for the V Force and peoples feedback this can hopefully be a post that can save people $$$ by helping them decide which Primary spring will suit them best. Please include your opinion of the spring in which you post. If this post is successful Nyroc could post it on his site to help others as well. Also what is the poundage of the stock spring...??/???. Thanks in advance for all the help-Carl Ride-On

You can get EPI's poundage from their website. You can get dalton's from their website. I forgot if hotseat tells you their poundage. Ask one of them what the stock spring is.

I will save the info if you grab it.

I haven't seen the actual specs on the stock spring, but it is very, very close in length and thickness to the stock blue Scrambler 500 spring rated at 20/90.

Default Clutch Poundage- V Force Help!

Thanks Kevin; I put the AAEN Green in mine yesterday. Unlike many of the "lucky ones" on these posts who can just blast out of their backyard I am forced to wait untill this sunday to report on this spring. Stuck in the city during the week. I tried it out infront of my house(my neighbors love me) and the engagement was surely higher. No room to open it up though, last time I tried that the local police asked me if I had a liscence for my V... I wish a company would produce a spring that had the stock initial poundage yet still came close to the 200lb. shift-out of the Green. It might be a little rowdy for some of the tight soggy areas that I encounter. The EPI pink states it's poundage as 0/160.97lbs. which is pretty good while the Dalton blue is rated at 3/155lbs. Has anyone tried the Polaris Yellow form AAEN which is rated at 40/190...i fso how was it? Thanks-Carl

The stock spring is not long enough to have a 2.5"load,I beleive the 1.25 load was 136. The 1.25" load of the 650 spring was around 105.

You will eventually get used to the stall and will hardly notice it after a while. If you're ever going to race, even against your buddies, you NEED the stall. It makes it easier to keep the front end down and your RPM's will build quicker. Some of the Polaris guys with the fast Sport 400's use springs like 173/298 and 147/285 to race with.

Helix, I know you represent dalton, so you may be the best source for this question...we have the spec's on the 650/700's, BUT how about the other prairie's??? the 360, and let's not forget the old 300 and 400 Prairie's...Their primary rate's may be close to the aftermarket's??????
