Holeshot Module

Newbeetle, I had some bad cooling system problems. I was discouraged about my 650 at one point, until I came to terms with the fact that I earned the problems I got.
I had 28" mudzillas and spent extra time in the mud at the Salamanca dice run showing people how much better my 650 was in the mud. I drove circles around them, then pulled them out and went back through where they were stuck.
All that mudding clogged my rad solid. I didn't notice the overheat light and kept driving (I had a flat tire to help contribute to the overheating). The coolant bulb softened and burst ($3). I replaced it but the cooling system wouldn't pressurize after that and it overheated consistently. The coolant fill neck had distorted ($90).
I had no idea why this happened at the time, and thought that water wetter had something to do with the problems with the plastic parts. The steel pieces from the strainer had melted out, got loose and hosed my water pump seal a few rides later ($30).
So, at one point in time I was overly concerned about cooling.
Now that you have read my story you should know why I feel so good about the fan not running much anymore.
Trailburner, I am afraid that with any more cooling system mods, my 650 will freeze in the rain in spring and cause ice to form on the ouside of the radiator. Just kidding, I am going to put water wetter in sometime. I just haven't needed it.

NYROC...As anyone can attest, I don't baby mine, ( I've seen some of your pictures, I know you don't baby yours )... I have a hole in my radiator, that has been repaired several times now... I'll be fabricating a Dodge Neon radiator into my Prairie, this week end... it should help out with the overheating, not to mention, it cost me $25.00 instead of the cost of a new Prairie radiator... unfortunatly its very close to the stock radiator, ( I was hoping to replace the filler neck & cap as well, but this radiator doesn't have the tank on the radiator as well )

Went riding yesterday around Churchville/Chili area and found my fan was running a lot. My radiator was spotless prior to the ride but we did do some mudding. While it never overheated per the LED display it was very hot and the fan ran for a good 10 minutes after being shut off at one point. I was very surprised at how long the fan ran that time usually only a couple of minutes. The riding was a combination of slow tight trails and some parts where we sustained 35 to 40 mph for 3 to 4 miles (down RR tracks).
This was my first ride with the DG module and I only have 230 miles on the P650 so not a lot of seat time to say my experience yesterday was good or bad but some info for you.
As a side note ONLY, the Rincon I was riding with had it's temp come on twice during the ride.

Thanks for the info easteregg.
Where did you ride? I ride often in bergen (near 19 and 33), and found a new place to go in the chili scottsville area.
I have a new trailer to tow behind my 2002 Ford Focus Heavy Duty sport utility subcompact. Wanna meet for a ride?

Meeting for a ride would be great but it will have to wait awhile. I'm home for only a few days then it's back on the road for 3 to 4 more weeks. If I'm back in time (I HOPE I HOPE) The last weekend of October were doing Wayne NF if your interested. If not we'll do something around here.
