Tecate4?
#2
The tecate-4 is the fastest of the 3 250's. It is very narrow and has a high center of gravity. It is an awesome trail bike because of this. the tecate was not a popular racer because of its weak frane and components but it will be fine for rec. riding.

The Tecate was the Fastest of the 3 250cc race bikes produced. It was only produced from 87-88. I believe stock horsepower rating was somewhere near 46hp. Much more than a 250R. they were a narrow bike with a shorter length. Also high center of gravity made them feel tippy. Good all around bike though,I currently own a 1986 ATC250R and am about to buy a mint 1988 Tecate.

I love it too. I think it looks better that the other 250's. I do think the 88/89 TRX's have an cool look with the head light.

I have been riding my Tecate-4 for over 11 years now and still enjoy it. I have not had any of the failures other people claim are problems, mine is very reliable and fast. I like having something different than all the other red sheep. I wish Kawaski would come out with a newer version, it is only a matter of time before all these old bikes will start to fall apart and parts will become hard to get.
