Default Progressive Suspension Install mistake

After putting the new springs on one of the struts, we replaced the c-washer at the top of the strut but didn't put it where it was supposed to go. We put it on top of the actual stop that we were supposed to put it and the top of the strut. The pressure of the spring sliced the rubber boot that seals the underside of the ball joint at the top of the strut, oozing grease. I slapped a bunch of grease on it and am going to leave it.

I am 99.99% sure that Kawasaki doesn't sell this small boot and I have no idea how you'd replace it as it doesn't seem like the strut comes apart at all.

Thats all...anyone attempting the progressive spring install, get a strut compressor or get 3 or 4 big guys to help. Get a rope, and pull the springs down to get the c-washer back on.

I have used 3M contact cement to fix a rubber surround on a 12" subwoofer that a screwdriver went through. Alcohol around the cut and put a coat over it. Then use a needle fitting to refill.

3M cement...thats a good idea...I'll have to try it. Only problem is getting the grease that I slapped on it off....Anyone have a syringe?
