I also emailed the individual on one of the 650's on Ebay. I was certain it was a scam but was playing along I guess. The individual emailed back a page long email. It stated how the atv was in perfect condition, he would pay shipping because they had a friends that worked at the airlines. I then emailed back and said why has the link been removed from Ebay. They emailed back avoiding the question but only went on in another page email. They stated how if I ship the funds they will proceed to ship. They even offered to pay shipping back if I did not want the atv. Oh, Yeah! they were from another country also.

I am still pleying with him also, I am to the point of asking for more photos so my wife will let me buy it. Haha. Cant wait to see what he sends me. He keeps saying it is in perfect shape, the funny thing is the photo he posted was of a wrecked one!!! :-)
I will post the responses when I get them all in.

It seems to me that this scam isn't limited to eBay. ATVTraderOnline.com has some deals that must be too good to be true. Here's an example. A 2003 Raptor with 208 miles for the nifty price of $2500.

http://adcache.atvtraderonline.com/16/9/8/57620998.htm

Maybe (and I do mean MAYBE???) things are MUCH cheaper in Spain but the trade-in value was listed as $3775 on Kelly's Blue Book site.

http://www.kbb.com/kb/ki.dll/ke.kb.m...R;41660;13610&

Retail was listed as $5270 by Kelly. And these Kelly prices don't even take into account the low mileage on this quad. Sure smells funny to me especially since there are numerous other ridiculously good deals on the ATVTraderOnline site if you look around and all of them come from somewhere in Europe mostly Spain.

Ok, all, here is the text of the message we have been sending back and forth to this idiot:

I WROTE:
To member: vhfanatic
From member: code54

--------------------

Hi - I am interested in your Kawasaki 650 Vtwin. May I be on your
buyer list?
Thanks!

HIS REPLY:

Hello there,

My name is Adam Jars and i am glad you are interested on my
ATV .Well,i have to let you know the ATV is in a
perfect condition.The ATV will be
shipped from Berlin/Germany,from here will support the shipping
taxes,insurance
and handling via FedEx Air Service and you will receive the ATV
within 3 days tops.
The price we hope to obtain is 2400 USD and if you agree with this
price we can start to complete the transaction. The payment must be done
using a bank deposit or money order.I prefer money order because in
this
way i will ship the ATV in the same day you make the
payment. The inspection period for it is 30 days.
If you agree with these terms, let me know and i will be more than glad
to start to complete the transaction with you.

I am waiting your email,

Regards,
Adam Jars

I WROTE:
Sounds awesome, VERY easy. Can you send me a few more photos of the
bike, then my wife will be ok with me buying it from smoewhere other than
locally! Why are you selling it, they are such a great bike? Have a
great week!
Thank you!!!
Scott

HIS REPLY:
Hi,

Look,I and my wife have a one year old boy and we decided that is
better for us to sell it.
Look, all you have to do now is to go to the nearest Western Union
office with CASH and wire the money to me.
This is my name and adress for the wire transfer at Western Union:
Adam Jars
adress:Koertestr. 4
zip:10967
City:Berlin
Country:Germany.
Look, when you'll go to Western Union to wire the money to me,if they
will ask you who you'll send the money, tell them that to a
friend,because
the fees for the bussiness transfer are higher.Don't
forget to email me your name and adress for the ship.

I'll be on-line to receive your email.

Now the funny part, the dumb a$$ sends me a photo of that wrecked P650 the fellow was selling a few weeks ago (someone had it listed and explained that it was wrecked and had nice clear photos of the bad parts - very open and honest sounding ad), well this scam "artist" is trying to use the photos from the other guys ad (why you would steal the photos of a wrecked one is beyond me) and pass it off as being in perfect condition when you can CLEARLY see the rack is all bent up.
Now the question is how do we mess around and get more info from him and take up more of his time..... Any thoughts????

Tell him you happen to be traveling to Berlin next week to do some "international law enforcement training" and would like to meet up with him to look it over in person. See if he will give you a place to meet and a description of what he looks like so you will know who he is, then you can take that further if you want........

Maybe we could get a little competition going for his ATV and up the bidding a few times.
Someone could offer him an extra $500 or so just to see if he was willing to sell the same
ATV twice.

Or you could tell him you are really interested in his ATV but first you need to make some
funds available. Just by chance you are from Nigeria and...

Having consulted with my colleagues, and based on information gathered
from the Nigerian Chamber of Commerce, I am pleased to propose a confidential
business transaction to our mutual benefit. I and my colleagues have
in our possession instruments to transfer the sum of $35,500,000.00 into a
foreign company’s account in our favor. This amount emanated as a result
from an over-invoiced contract, executed, commissioned, and paid for about
two years ago by a foreign contractor. We are therefore seeking your assistance
in transferring this money to your account as it can only be remitted to
a foreign account, and as civil servants, we are forbidden to operate foreign
accounts. The total sum will be shared as follows:
30% for the account owner (you)
60% for us
10% to settle any incidental expenses
“We shall commence the transfer of funds immediately, as soon as you send
the following documents/information through the above fax number.
1. Four copies of your company’s letter head and
invoice papers signed and stamped
2. Your banker’s name, address and fax numbers
3. The account number and name of would be
beneficiary.
“Bear in mind that this is absolutely a private and personal deal, nonofficial;
and should be treated with all measure of secrecy and confidentiality.”

Whoever said you can't con a con man must have missed the first day of Con Games 101.
The easiest person to con is someone greedy.

Hi Adam we are in luck I have been assigned to be in Berlin next weekend to give a training seminar to the Berlin international airport security officer's.I work for the CIA and we are cross training most of the international airport security agencie's to defend there aircraft from terrorist's (that's about all I can safely comment on that at this time). So I will be in Berlin from next Saturday through the following Saturday and have that Tuesday off duty I was going to spend the day site see'ing but can cancel my plan's if we can make arrangement's to come see the bike in person I will have the cash on hand either in duetshmark's (sp?) or in U.S. fund's which ever you prefer please let me know before hand and if all goes well I will take posession of the bike at that time I will be flying in on a U.S. military personel transport and am sure I can get security clearence to fly back with the bike. Also have spoken to one of the head's of the Berlin police department by the name of Lars Ulrich and he is also an avid ATV fan he has a Bombardier DS 650 and when I told him about the bike you have for sale he could not beleave the great price you were offering it for he said it has to be wrecked or something but I assured him me and you have had many conversation's and the quad from the way you describe it is in great condition so he would like to come with me to look at the bike he also own's a truck we can transport it back to the airport with if every thing goes well.Don't worry Lars said he would over look the "high buissiness fee's" he seem's like a pretty nice normal type of guy.
Please let me know what you think of this and if I need to bring U.S. fund's or German fund's I am very excited!
Thank you!!!
Scott.

Hehe that'll make him **** his pant's for sure
