.......The mojave's engine is pretty much bulletproof, so don't worry about it. That is why they have rev limiters.

seriously thanks.. i never really revved it that hard because i was used to my 200sx POS that overheated after revving it for 1/4 of a mile but thanks..

 

Get a KLR250 cdi for that Mojave and find out, I put one on mine and I get scared when the rpms just keep getting higher and higher and higher. I would like to now how hard its turning sometimes.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

as long as there is load on the engine(not free-revving) it will go for a long time. (as long as it can stay in normal operating temps.) revving a engine past the cam's intended rpm range for extended periods(free-reving) is when you start running risks. thing of yourself trying to run(with your legs)as fast as you can uphill vs. downhill.

Its the cdi off a KLR 250 dirt bike, it has no rev limit and a slightly different curve to it. It allows you to rev higher.

If i hold mine in fifth gear pinned for more than a few seconds it cuts out but thats just mine because i have to rejet but im not going to do that until i get a pipe and air filter cause i dont want to have to jet it twice.

 

If I switch to that cdi will it hurt the engine?
