Default High Octane Gas

Would 110 octane gas hurt my V? Help it? I have heard that it would run cooler with it... is this true?

It would have no effect what so every either good or bad basically you would be wasting about 4$ a gallon on this. A couple month's ago had a fuel cell foam come apart in a drag car so the gas in it was unusable so I took it and filtered it out and put it in the V it was 118 octane and went through the whole tank and could see no difference in any thing what so ever. The gas will have no effect on cooling either the cooling is based on rich/lean condition all the octane does is determine the rate at which the fuel burns. The only time you need to use higher octane is when you have more compression no other reason than that basically.

Yeah I love the smell of Sunoco purple 118
You can experience wonderful smell's at the drag strip.
The only place that smell's better than the Dragstrip is Cheetah 3 here in Atlanta

Actually, running high octane without high compression will also slow your machine down somewhat also. Slow burn = less power with yhe same compression ratio as say, 89 octane.

higher octane is better up to the point of detonation prevention. after that its overkill and a waste of money. Most quads with a 9 to 1 compression will run just fine on regular or midgrade gasoline. 10-1 usually works well on 91/92 octane, premium in most states. Higher than that is a case by case. some will take 104, some need 118, and others in the middle. anything higher than premium on a stock quad is just a waste.

The high octane actually is cooler ... but I'm not going into the details of that mess. It is a complicated web and not really needed here. Run the lowest octane that will prevent predetonation. Bottom line.
