P 650 vs the P 700
#2
It is faster in the low to mid power band. The P650 has 42 hp and I believe the P700 has 47 hp. 5 ponies is a lot when talking about these machines. Look through some old posts- I think someone else recently asked this question -you might find some responses there too.

Well I think I may be qualified to answer this one, I own a '03 P650, '04 P700 and an '04 V-Force 700.
My wife and I just went out on our first break-in ride for the P700, she was riding the P650 and is very familiar with ATV's and quite comfortable with hammering the throttle at speed. She has been over 60+ mph many times alone and no problems. We communicate thru our Motorola two way radios with MOTOCOMM helmet communicators so I can tell her when I want her to haul azz.
We found a nice long smooth dirt road to really get a chance to see what these things can do side by side. Oh wait the only mod to her P650 is the black secondary spring, that's it. She weighs in about 125-130 and is 5-04", I weigh in at 195 and stand 5-11". She gets the okay to launch from a 20mph roll on. I hit the gas and wave goodbye to her as she pulls straight away from me. I say whoa, I just spent alot of money on the P700 and she walks away from me not once, not twice, not three times, but 4 consecutive times in a row. I begin to slowly, and I mean slowly gain on her as the speed increases but up to 50 mph she is untouchable. It would take a good long straight to get in front of her, probably 300 yards or so would be my guess.
The P700 feels like it has more going for it but for the money, I would NOT buy another P700 just to claim it will beat a P650. The P700 will eventually win a speed contest and might even do a little better if both riders were the same weight, but for the extra grand to have the P700, I would save the money and do mods to the P650.
So you make the decision to buy what ever you wish, I hope the P700 has upgrades that I'm not aware of over the 650. I will tell you this though, the V-Force 700 will smoke them both and never look back. I have accelerated up behind my wife when she is just hammering the P650 and I could run clean over her and land smoothly without breaking a stride, the V-Force has that much more over the Prairie models. But when it comes to climbing slowly up hill over rutted out wet slimy rock and tree roots the Prairie will leave the V-Force in the slime. That is why I purchased the second Prairie, here in the Northwest it rains sometimes and all the power in the world will not get you over some of the rain soaked moss covered rocks and downed trees we need to get over.
I love the V-Force but I doubt it will stay part of this family for long.
So to answer your question, Is the P700 much faster than the P650........NO, it is faster, but it's NOT much faster.

I say we all raise some money and buy Nyroc a p700 so he can trick it out and tell us all the secrets as he did on his 650.
I test drove a 700 today and was a little dissapointed. My 650 would have blown it away out of the whole. I had mine dialed in just perfect. Too bad I had to let it go. Well, I'll have another one soon enough!
