First Bike Need Advice
#1
Hello all, this is my first atv and i seem to be having some problems with gas mixture. When i first start the bike you can hear popping in the air box which clears shortly after the bike gets warm. Also after the bike gets warm and you are riding it, it almost seems like one of the cylinders is flooding out, i have to pump the throttle to get it back and it mostly happens at low speeds. The bike runs fine at high throttles and idles smoothly after it is at operating temp. Any ideas welcome.

your carb jetting may be off. Pull your sparkplugs and "read" them. If they are tannish colored you are running lean and need to go to bigger jet sizes. If the plug is blackish you are rich. My prairie pops through the carbs until it's warm then it's all fine.
You may be able to cure the condition by playing with the mixture screws. i have no idea which way to go or how many turns to take.
good luck

Does it tend to do the flooding thing more if you are turning sharply left? If so, it may be a defective choke cable. Some V-forces had this problem.
