Default exhaust wrap

Hi VTprairie,
I did the exaust wrap and made the inner fender extensions and haven't had the over heat problem since I did it. Before that just about every time I rode in mud with a lot of clay in it I would have to stop and clean my radiator because the over heat light would come on. My fan doesn't run nearly as much. I highly recommend doing it.

VTPrairire-- I sent pix of my inner fender shields to "nyroc". They are in his 650 Knowledge Base. I also bored holes in the side panels(inner fenders), so that I could hose down the backside of the radiator. Hopefully, a good radiator cleaning will solve your overheating. You can buy plastic or rubber "blanking plugs" to put in the bored access holes.

That could be a thermostat problem. I think I read some wheres someone put in a thermostat from a Kawasaki Mule and it helped run a little cooler.

Any time you want someone to ride with drop me a line. I try to ride just about every weekend some where.

VT P.-- I used a 2" plug. I think. You can find them at Sears Hrdwr., I think. If not there, a auto parts store should have them.

VTPrairie,

Good to see you still have the Prairie! I may be riding this weekend, depending on whether I am travelling to visit family in Ma, or not. If I ride, I plan on hooking up w/ KRABID on Saturday... Are you working? It would be cool to finally and get out and ride w/ you! Let me know.
