Softer Rear Suspension?
#1
The rear suspension on my Prairie always seemed a little harsh.
When you push on it sitting still it is soft. but seems hard riding it.
Rode a new 400 Suzuki 4X4 and rear suspension felt better.
Tire pressure was the same on both machines.
Anyone got any thoughts on this, I would like to improve the rear suspension if possible.

Since nobody else replied I will try. I rode a 650 that felt harsher than my 400. I figured it was rear tires. The 650 has 12 inch rear rims, my 400 has 10 inchers. Thats quite a bit of extra tire to soak up bumps. If the 400 suzuki you rode had 10's.... Could that be it? If so, wanna trade rear rims????? joking..

Hey 400XLT
My 650 had ATR's, the Suzuki had stock Dunlops. The ATR's are a lot wider,
so maybe they do ride harder, haven't gone under 4 pounds air pressure because I ride a lot of rocks.
That Suzuki sure rode better than my Prarie tho.

One thing I can say about my stock dunflops is they ride nice.
as long as you dont try any turning, mudding, sliding, slowing, accellerating or anything other than a straight line. I might miss the soft ride when I get rid of them, but not much else.

All of the P650's came with the rear shock set at the middle adjustment from the factory.
I had mine set down to the softest setting when the dealer was servicing my new P650 at purchase. This softer setting works best for me.
