GREEN700 ... I'm not totally smart enough to defend all these claims, but trying to remember some of what the "flow guru's" bestowed upon me... you can't use water & air, as examples... the air has little or no mass compared to water... mass is critical in flow / inirtia... ... you can pour water into the snorkle of you ATV, gravity / mass will move the water down through the system, & into the engine... obviously you can't pour air down into your snorkle... it just takes different forces to get air moving, & keep it moving smoothly to it's destination...
you guy's can do what you want, ... if I knew latin now, I repeat the quote " let the buyer beware" ... i'd be willing to bet that these claims of 5 hp would be pretty hard to prove

These are a couple of quotes from the person selling the intake.
Tried the intake out this weekend. It works great! I gained about .58 seconds in a 300 ft run. Would probably be more on black top as i noticed it spins easier. I tested it with the stock exhaust. I would say there is probably a 5hp gain. Power increase was more than the single exhaust system i was running. Which makes me happy cause now i can have the same power as my aftermarket exhaust with less noise. I orderd a new filter for it today. With and aftermarket filter and this it should realy run. I may put the exhaust on this weekend and try it again to see what the gains are with an exhaust. This will be well worth the $70.
We did some top speed runs and some more testing on the kit today. Used a radar gun to see what the top speeds were. When mine was bone stock i could get 73mph with the bike stock. With the intake on we were getting an average of 5.2mph faster on top end. Keep in mind this is on a bone stock bike except for the intake. We also noted that the bike runs cooler and that the intake noise you here on the stocker is less with this intake. One thing i realy like about this intake is the added throttle response. It makes pitching her side ways on grass or dirt 10 times easier. This thing will realy roost now! If any one is interested in a kit email cc_performane@msn.com . The kits should be available for order by friday.
Tried the intake with an HPD plain spring and single exhaust yestarday. This thing will blow the doors off of anything now. Guaranteed. Gonna try running her on the radar gun this weekend. I can bet she'll hit 80mph.
It sounds good, I just need another review.

Little off topic, but who is king of the hill (sand) climes out of you group?
Banshee, Raptor, YFZ450 and KFX700

he banshee beats the 450. But that's with a 140lb shee driver. And the 450 is pipeless right now. For 3rd and 4rth place, it depends on the hill. It's that close. I know who will win depending on hill selection. Oddly, the raptor prefers the milder hills with long runways. The vforce does well on steep hills with shorter runways. Because if the raptor cant hold 2nd, it looses.
Last week It was just the 700 and 450. We went to a super steep hill with no runway. I went up 1st. The 450 followed me and got stuck at the midpoint. The moral is that the CVT kicks but on these types of hills. Only the 700 & shee have made it. Watch this video of a 250R on that hill.

Now regarding the water thing I mentioned. I know there is a density difference. But nobody has actually seen air movement in a KFX700 airbox, because air is invisible, and the box is opaque. So to be scientific you need a cfd program or a glass airbox and some smokey air. A cfd model would give you quantitative data. Anyway, I used water as kind of a visual common sense example of why holes are good.

GREEN700... I to, was using the water air example... no offense ment, ... if you read the quotes "there is probably a 5 hp gain"... what kind of crab is that... they are changing to many variables & no quanifiable data ( his guess ??? )
also, I'm not saying that the V is not starving for air, but I'll bet that there would be no gains ( & perhaps lost hp ), on a dyno, between running the V with the DGR snorkle, & a V with the stock snorkle, & with this extra snorkle installed... ???? scientifically they are introducing the air at totally the wrong place

I can say from experience that a seconds snorkel works fine on my V-Force. I had to go from 138/142 jetting to 155/158 after adding a homemade second snorkel, a K&N and opening up the hood vents. I know that there may be some turbulence in the airbox with 2 intakes, but if the air wasn't getting to the carbs then such a drastic jetting change wouldn't have been needed. More air + more fuel = more HP. Seat of the pants and my latest run against the 2 Banshees I ride with verified it for me.

3TV... you said ... "So are you saying that the Diamond G snorkel would make more horsepower on a dyno than the stock snorkel combined with this new snorkel? I thought that was what you said anyway."... IMO... that is correct, I know that the stock system is restricted, but designed correctly, if that makes any sense... the DGR snorkle, is the same design, but flows much more air, as the restricted end of the snorkle, is twice the size... & flowing more air through the factory designed system, will IMO make more HP, than adding a hole to the filter box directly infront of the carbs velocity stacks

Green700,
I really enjoyed the video clip (dunereview). Never been to the dunes, but it looks like a great time. The best sand dunes in Texas are located 10 hours away from me in Kermit, TX...one of my riding buddies has gone there several times and loved it...I hope to join him one day.
Happy trails...
