Has anyone tried this Dual Intake mod?Dual Air It's half the price of the DG snorkle, and say's it gains 5hp, and 5mph on top end.

I'm actually thinking about using both the DG and the CC performance intakes.
The DG replace's the stock snorkel and the CC add's one (you have to cut a hole in the intake and install this snorkel).
Heard the DG work's very well havn't heard of any one using this Snorkel yet.

To me that snorkel looks like the STOCK SNORKEL with some type of aluminum collar used to mount. You have to drill a hole anyway so why not just epoxy the stock one there with a PVC collar or sleeve. Those photos on eBay are not very clear.

EBay reminds me of going to a Chinese Restaurant... the photos on wall always looks more mouth-watering... then your plate arrives LOL.

I designed my own induction system, & before doing so, spoke with several techs with flow benches... this assortment of guys have power tuned everything from lawn tractors for pulling, to Harleys, to assorted drag bikes...Kawasaki is at the leading edge with how they design thier intake systems... contrary to popular belief, holes in the filter box may actually cause you to lose power... it is a science, ( the induction air flow patterns )... If they can't show you a dyno sheet, ( from a respected dyno shop ), I'd never put a hole in my filter box in that location... it will totally destroy the desired air flow patterns, being directly in front of the velocity stacks on the carbs... the DGR snorkle, is a great improvement to the stock system...

my system, was designed on a Prairie, it used a slightly modified stock filter box as an accumulator, & the new filter box is moved up on & incorporated into the front rack, it is 12" higher & includes a water seperator ( for mud bogging )...it houses either a pair of K&N's or Twin Air filters...

I put a lot of thought into my system, & the one you are refering to on E Bay looks like no engineering went into the design... I'd think twice before buying one...

This is a response from the e-mail on the Dual Intake on jetting.

Rejetting is required. You can use 145/150 kehien jets on a stock bike. or
we use 134/138 dynojets with a dynojet kit. This is just a starting point.
You will have to tune your jetting to your elevation. If your elevation is
under 3000ft this should be pretty close to perfect. Peak HP increase of
5.2 was found. To get the best performance a primary clutch spring or
clutch kit is recommended. Its not necessarry but will yeild the most
gains.
thanks!!

IMO... installing the 2nd air inlet, in that position, will likely lose you 5 hp, as it will screw up your air flow patterns... why don't you just buy my system, on sale today for $500.00... it makes 50 hp... ( joke ) ...again, IMO, most of these aftermarket performance products, don't put out anywhere near the hp increases they claim... if it truely added 10% more hp, you would feel it, it wouldn't need you to change the clutch spring at the same time...

I'm gonna have to disagree with some of these ideas. I think getting enough air is the first priority. All hopes of laminar flow are lost when the air hits the foam filter anyway. If adding holes slows you down it's because your jetting has been screwed up by them. Brock Parker has airbox holes and he runs pretty quick.

Air is hard to see so think of water. At a given pressure, more water would flow through an airbox with holes than without. I understand that boudary layer seperation can have adverse effects, but these are outwieghed by the positive addition of new open surface area.

Kawasiki designed the airbox to clean air, keep water out, etc. I dont blame them for that. They didn't design it to increase air flow.

Try this Rocke Joe's Ram Air and yes I do not get any money from Home Depot for this endorsement. It only adds 25 hp*.

green700,

Little off topic, but who is king of the hill (sand) climes out of you group?
Banshee, Raptor, YFZ450 and KFX700

I dont know much about the air flow, but as long as the air gets in there whats the problem?
