Default which tires

Well guys have come across a cheap 98 Bayou 300 but it needs tires and has a bent wheel don't ask how it happend. My question is what size tire should I go with mostly it will be trail riding and some good mud I woulden't mind lifting it if I had too and going with different wheels would be pretty cool too thanks for any help.

i assume it is the 4 X 4 model ??? I would definately get those steel wheels off, & install aluminum wheels... alot of people have been installing ITP C series wheels... they are strong & light, & have a 1" wider offset than the stock wheels, if your Bayou has the 12" fronts, & 10" rear wheels, just buy the 12" for both, it'll give you extra clearance around the rear brakes ( better for mudding ), & aluminum wieghs less than rubber ( the rear combo will end up weighing less... less power loss )... the new radials are proving to be the way to go... Maxxis Big Horns, Goodyear MTR's, ITP ATR's, Carlysle Badlands, High Lifter radial Outlaws...ETC....I would reccomend staying at 25"-26", for both power reasons & fun factor on the trails... I also would not put on a lift, unless you find you are wallowing in the mud more than you are on the trail... I've also had really good luck with both Goodtear Mudrunners, & Grips... but would seriously look at the new tread patterns...
