P700 blown up?
My P700 has about 114 miles on it and I have a friend who has 30 on his. Both were use for trail riding and have been subjected to minor mud (nothing they couldnt get out of). Both also are now producing a SERIOUS bottom end knock as well as white smoke and barely have the power to move (I don't even think mine will get itself on the truck). Anybody heard of any similar incidents? We are about to see how well Kawasaki will deal with this as a warranty issue. I'm hoping not to have any problems.

It smelled like coolant, I'm sure that's what it was on mine at least. What it doesnt explain is the bottom end noise. I find it odd that these two machines are both displaying the same symptoms and are both so new. Certainly there is a logical explaination and somebody else has had similar difficulty.

I tend to agree. Head gasket problems. As far as the warrenty issue, it depends
on the dealer you deal with.
I had the belt , clutch , rear shock , 5 different shaft seals, and handle warmers
replaced before 2000 miles. Don't get me wrong, the P650 is a good machine
but I was pushin it real hard in mud and water. They still came good on the
warrenty with no arguments whatsoever.
Good Luck.

P700 blown up?
Similar situation happened with my brother's 650. He was flying down a road and I was behind him. Started blowing a blueish white smoke and no power. Turned out he was overfilled with oil, being blow up into his air box. His air filter was saturated with oil. It was an easy fix.
Kstompaint- I returned your PM.

P700 blown up?
After draining and replacing the oil (several times) and changing the plugs and filters, mine seems to be working ok again. My friends, however is not. Kawasaki is warrantying his for a full rebuild. At least they took care of it. At one point a Kawasaki representative told him, "you should not approach water or mud above the center of the axle." What the hell is the use of a high horsepower 4x4 with a diff locker if you cant take it in mud?
