My vforce vs. Honda TRX450r
#11
Hopefully the 450r will be more ergonomic though, I've considered the yfz, but the seat to footpeg distance, just didn't fit. I am only 5'10" , the yfz just felt to cramped, kinda like I was one of those shriner guys you see in parades, either way, the speed difference between the two will be nominal at best.
Sorry to hear they are jerking your friend around. He shouldn't expect shipment of the quad before Dec 30th based on the latest info. Honda has officially said January 2004 for the release since the announcement. I am just hoping they don't slide into March, etc.

Well, the worst part is that they supposedly left on the 8th. That, and there are a few members on here that have seen them or have called their dealers and they are in already. Oh well, I just want to check it out. Looks like a nice bike.

That ATV rider article was a "tech" shootout. Honda didnt give them a bike to test. Initially, it seems the YFZ will have a slight power advantage stock. Nobody knows until we see the TRX on an MX track.
Honda has engine reliability in its favor. Yamaha likes to gear their engines slightly more for performance.
Should be a great bike though.

They already raced a 450R on a mx track and it took first place overall. They said off the gate the 450R was behind but it quickly picked up and passed the yfz's one after another. The article is on the exriders web site.

every one is saying that the yfz is going to be faster than the 450r i think it would be funny f the 450r smoked the yfz that would keep them from bragging
maybe the cc wont make it faster but i think it will be faster. and id rather the honda than the yfz anyway.
even though i own 2 yamahas

Just curious to know if your buddy is going to do a clean "break-in" on his new 'R' before he starts drag racing? I would certainly would if it were my ride.
